山之辺の道の通りに面しています。
one of the most frequently photographed house along the path, very near Miwa Shrine.

My students are fortunate having a path-leader Tokiko san,
one of my classmates who lives in Nara City. In those days
she commuted between Sakurai and Nara City, a long way walking included...

Here is what a participant wrote about walking in Japan:

".................NO, most of us had weak feet from all the walking
(Iguess americans aren't used to walking that much).
I usually do better than most, but japan proved me
wrong...Be in better shape to withstand the walking.
(comment for myself)
I loved the shrines (aside from me liking
priestesses). The area had a really good feel to it.
Perhaps its because the shrine's caretakers have a
strong love for the forest. I really don't know but
perhaps when I return next year I'll find out........."

The student went back to Miwa Shrine on the last day
by himsel. He will find mystery that struck him someday...
